    Who we are

Delta FC is a football club in Madrid. It was founded in 2024, after a university pulled its funding and the team decided to keep going anyway. This is our first season of official, federated football.

Twelve nationalities, playing in English. Twenty-five players paying for the whole thing out of their own pockets. Over a million views in six months, with nobody managing any of it.

We are now rebuilding the club from the inside. The aim is to run the most professional amateur club we can: written roles, real ownership of an area, one number per area, and a structure that does not fall over when one person is away.

We have no budget and no staff. What we do have is young people who are good at something and want a real place to use it. Nobody here is paid. Everyone is here for the love of the game.

    What we are looking for

The club is about to take in sponsorship money for the first time. Money arriving without someone accountable for it is how small associations get into trouble. We are looking for someone to hold the accounts and the budget, reporting to the president rather than to the people spending.

    What the role is

    • Keep the accounts. Where the money is, where it went, what is committed.
    • Collect and track player fees across a squad of twenty-five.
    • Build and hold the season budget.
    • Be the counterpart to the club's investor on anything involving numbers.

    Who this is for

    • You are organised and boring in the best sense of the word.
    • You close the month without anyone reminding you.
    • You can say no to a spend in front of someone you like.
    • You are comfortable being the person who asks for the receipt.

How we would know it is working

How much cash the club has, and whether the fees are up to date.

This is the one thing you report each week, without anyone asking.

Conditions that apply to every role

    • Unpaid and volunteer. Delta is a non-profit association. Every person in the club, from the president down, works on it for free. We say it in the first paragraph rather than the last.
    • Real hours. The number on each role is what the job actually takes. If it does not fit your term, say so now rather than in November.
    • You own the area. Not a task inside someone else's project. You decide how the work gets done and nobody reviews it piece by piece. We agree the what once a cycle. The how is yours.
    • One thing you report each week. Every role has a single thing it keeps an eye on, and you send it over once a week without anyone asking. While it looks healthy, nobody comes to check on you. That is what replaces supervision in a club that has none.

    What you get

    • Your own area. Not a task inside someone else's project.
    • A real case, not a line on a CV. At the end of the season you have something you built, with numbers attached, that you can walk someone through in an interview.
    • A seat where decisions happen. You work directly with the people running the club. There is no layer between you and the person who decides.
    • University paperwork and a reference. Some programmes recognise work with a non-profit association. We do not control that, but we will sign whatever your university needs and give you a reference at the end.

This is not for you if

    • You want the title more than the work. It shows within a month and it costs the club a season.
    • You need someone to tell you what to do this week. There is nobody here to write that list.
    • You are expecting to be paid. Nobody here is, including the president.
