Delta FC x IE University: A Night Full of Football

Delta FC returned to its roots for a special evening with IE University — a night full of football, familiar faces, and the community spirit that defines this club.

Delta FC's origin story is closely tied to IE University. The club was born when IE's federated football programme was discontinued, and a student decided to build something new rather than let it disappear. Many of Delta FC's founding players, staff, and supporters came through IE, making this event a meaningful reconnection with the community where it all started.

The night brought together current Delta FC players, IE students, alumni, and friends of the club for a friendly football session on the IE campus. From the classroom to the pitch, it was a reminder of why Delta FC exists — to bring people together through the sport they love, regardless of where they come from.

IE University is one of Madrid's leading international universities, attracting students from over 130 countries. That international DNA is exactly what Delta FC is built on. Our English-speaking football club represents 12+ nationalities, and many of our players are current or former students at IE, Universidad Carlos III, Universidad Complutense, CEU, and other Madrid institutions. Football is the common ground.

Events like these are a core part of what makes Delta FC more than just a football team. We are an English-speaking sports community in Madrid that connects expats, international students, and young professionals through competitive football. Whether it is a RFFM league match, a training session at Campo Rupe Sahagún, or a community night at a partner university, the goal is the same — create spaces where people belong.
