Matchday 1: Delta FC Win 1-0 Away at CDE QUIMERA C.F.
Matchday 1 is done, and Delta FC are up and running. The club travelled to CDE QUIMERA C.F. on Sunday 27 September 2026 and left VEREDA GANAPANES 1 (HA) with a 1-0 win. It is the first result of the RFFM league campaign, and it is three points banked away from home.
The goal, according to the official match report, came from MOZO CRIADO, SANTIAGO. One goal was all Delta FC managed, and one goal was all Delta FC needed.
Opening day on the road
There is no gentle way into a league season. You get one chance at matchday 1, and this one came away from Campo Rupe Sahagún, in someone else's ground, against a side playing in front of their own people. Delta FC handled it and came away with the result.
We will not dress this up with detail we cannot verify. What the record shows is simple and it is enough: CDE QUIMERA C.F. 0, Delta FC 1. In a league where points are collected slowly and lost quickly, an away win on the first weekend is exactly the kind of start this group wanted.
What a 1-0 asks of a team
A one goal win is never the work of one player. It asks the whole squad to stay switched on for the full match, because a single mistake changes everything. It asks defenders to concentrate when the ball is nowhere near them. It asks everyone to do the unglamorous work that never shows up in a scoreline.
That is the standard the club trains for. Delta FC players commit to two or three sessions a week, with matches on Sundays. Sessions run at Campo Rupe Sahagun and at AD Union Adarve this season, and everything on the training pitch is done in English: coaching, team communication and match preparation. Off the pitch, players speak whatever language they like. On the pitch, everyone speaks the same one. Results like this one are what that shared language is for, because a 1-0 away win depends on players understanding each other instantly, under pressure, without thinking about it.
A club built from scratch, still building
It is worth remembering where this started. Delta FC, legal name CDE Delta Juventud F.C., was founded in 2024 after a university announced that its federated club would not continue. A student and his father decided that was not the end of the story and built a new identity from nothing.
That debut 24/25 squad went out and earned promotion to Segovia's 1st Federated Division in the FCyLF. That chapter is club history now. From season 26/27 the club competes as a single team in Madrid, in the RFFM, with home matches at Campo Rupe Sahagun near Plaza Castilla. El Pardo, used in 25/26, is no longer part of the setup.
So this is a new competition, a new league table and a new set of opponents. Matchday 1 has given the club the best possible answer to all of it: a win, on the road, to start the season.
There is a long way to go and nothing has been decided by one afternoon in late September. But a young club that had to build its own identity from zero has just opened a league campaign with three points away from home, and that is a foundation worth having.
Congratulations to MOZO CRIADO, SANTIAGO and to everyone who travelled and competed. Next stop is matchday 2, and the standard has been set.
